Iran Becomes Runner-Up at Serbian Taekwondo Tournament

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran finished in second place at the Galeb Belgrade Trophy Serbia Open G1 2019 in Belgrade, Serbia on Sunday.

The two-day Taekwondo competition was held in Belgrade’s “Aleksandar Nikolic” Hall.

Iran finished in second place with 20 points, bagging two gold medals, one silver and three bronzes.

Soroush Ahmadi and Mir Hashem Hosseini won two gold medals at the -68kg and -74kg, respectively.

Armin Hadipour claimed a silver at the -58kg and Farzan Ashourzadeh (-63kg), Sajjad Mardani (+87) and Saeid Rajabi (+87kg) won three bronze medals.

Mexico won the title with 24 points, winning three gold medals and one silver.

Australia came third with 14 points with two gold medals.
