Hamid Estili’s Memorable Goal on Former USA Embassy’s Walls

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Goal of Hamid Estili against USA, known as the Goal of the Century, in the 1998 FIFA World Cup has been painted on exterior walls of the former USA Embassy in Tehran.

Sports

Iran unveiled new murals painted on the walls ahead of the 40th anniversary of the 1979 takeover of the US embassy in Tehran.

Among the paintings is a depiction of the header of Estili in Lyon’s Stade de Gerland.

Iran won the match 2-1 with Estili and Mehdi Mahdavikia’s goals.
