Turkey has long criticized its European allies for refusing to take back ISIL militants who are their citizens, and on Monday warned that Ankara would send captured terrorists back to their countries even if their citizenships have been revoked, according to Reuters.
“We are telling them: ‘We’ll repatriate these people to you’, and we are starting as of Monday,” the state-run Anadolu news agency quoted Soylu as saying.
Turkey has captured some escaped Daesh members in northeastern Syria over the last month after it launched a military incursion there.
Turkey recognized Daesh as a terrorist organization in 2013.
Since then, Turkey has been attacked by Daesh terrorists numerous times, including in 10 suicide bombings, seven bombings, and four armed attacks.
These attacks killed 315 people, including 11 police officers and two soldiers -- and injured 137 civilians, 62 police officers and seven soldiers.
