Iranian Athletes Claim Two Medals at World Para Athletics C’ships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian athletes snatched two more medals at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships.

Ali Mohammadyari won a silver medal at the discus throw F56 with a throw of 43.51 meters.

The gold medal went to Brazilian Claudiney Batista who threw 45.92. Indian Yogesh Kathuniya (42.05m) claimed a bronze medal.

In the women’s javelin F56, Hashemiyeh Motandhian won a silver medal with a throw of 22.67m. Rio 2016 Paralympic champion Diana Dadtzite from Latvia won a gold with 25.54 and Raissa Rocha of Brazil seized the bronze with 22.28.

More than 1,400 athletes from 120 nations are competing in the World Championships from November 7 to 15.
