Protest Held in Toronto against US Killing of Iran’s Soleimani (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A protest gathering over the US airstrike that killed Iranian commander Major General Qassem Soleimani in Iraq was held Saturday across the street from the US consulate in Toronto.

Dozens of protesters gathered on the Armoury St. on University Ave, voicing their anger over the US attack and warned that a war could takes lives of innocent people.

The US President Donald Trump gave the order for assassination of Iranian and Iraqi counter-terrorist commanders in a drone strike on their motorcade just outside Baghdad airport as General Soleimani’s flight arrived from Syria, leading to speculations that the Israeli intelligence might have played a role.

The assassination has triggered a wave of outrage in the world especially among Iranians and Iraqis, and further aligned the two neighbors with vociferous calls for revenge for what they view as "state terrorism."
