Iranian Wrestlers Win Two Gold Medals at Matteo Pellicone
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mohammadhossein Mohammadian and Amir Zare claimed two gold medals on the first day of action at the Matteo Pellicone Memorial.
Mohammadian defeated his Belarusian rival Aliaksandr Hushtyn 9-0 in the 97kg final bout and claimed a gold medal.
In 125kg, Zare defeated his veteran rival Bilial Makhov of Russia 5-3.
Iran has participated in the competition with four wrestlers.
The competition, which serves as Olympic qualification, is being held in Rome, Italy.
