Qatari Emir Appoints New PM after Accepting Resignation of Predecessor
TEHRAN(Tasnim) – Qatar's ruler Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has accepted the resignation of the prime minister, and appointed Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdelaziz al-Thani in his place, the emir's office said in statements on Tuesday.
Qatar's new Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdelaziz Al Thani will also hold the post of interior minister, the emir's office said on Tuesday, Reuters reported.
Key cabinet positions such as foreign, energy, finance, defense and trade ministries remained unchanged.
