Stephane Cusin Rues Shahr Khodro Side's Inexperience
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Shahr Khodro head coach Stephane Cusin said his side struggled to play against the defending champion as his players lack continental experience.
The Iranian team lost to Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia 2-0 at Al Wasl Stadium in Group B of the AFC Champions League on Monday.
“There is a big difference between our team and Al Hilal,” said Cusin in the post-match news conference. “It is not easy to play against such a team like Al Hilal who is the champion of the competition."
“We are playing in the AFC Champions League for the first time and our players gave their best against one of the strongest teams in the competition.”
Shahr Khodro’s next adventure sees the team travels east to take on FC Pakhtakor in Tashkent while Al Hilal plays Shabab Al Ahli Dubai next week.
