Three Iranian Greco-Roman Wrestlers into Asian Championships Final

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Three Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers booked their places at the Asian Wrestling Championship finals on Tuesday.

On day 1 of the tournament, Pouya Nasserpour advanced to the final match in the 55kg weight category. He will meet Jasurbek Ortikboef from Uzbekistan.

In the 77kg, Pejman Poshtam will lock horn with Tamerlan Shadukayev from Kazakhstan in the final.

Amin Mirzadeh also qualified for the final match of 130kg and will meet Korean Minseok Kim.

The governing body of the sport, the United World Wrestling, has announced that this edition will be considered to determine rankings for the 2020 Olympic Games.

Iran has sent 10 wrestlers to the competition.

The event has a total of 30 weight classes, 10 each in Freestyle Men, Women, and Greco Roman.

Asian Wrestling Championships are being held in New Delhi, India from February 18 to 23.
