Qatar Sends 1st Consignment of Medical Aid to Iran amid Virus Epidemic


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Qatar said Sunday it was sending medical aid to Iran to help the country in its fight against the spread of the novel Coronavirus.

Qatar’s official news agency said that the first consignment of the urgent aid was being dispatched to Iran including six tons of medical equipment and supplies.

The aid dispatch comes upon directives from Qatar’s Emir Tamim Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the agency added.

The number of coronavirus patients in Iran rose to 13,938 on Sunday, and the death toll reached 724.

A total of 4,590 patients infected with COVID-19 have recovered from the disease and have been discharged from the hospital.

Qatar itself has recorded a total of 337 virus cases.
