CEO of the Iranian company Abbas Shahmoradi said the atomic force multimode microscope manufactured inside Iran is broadly used for nanoscopy.

The atomic force microscope (AFM) is employed to study the surface characterization of conducting and non‐conducting materials on a scale of nanometers, he added.

He also noted that an electron microscope designed and manufactured by the Iranian company weighs 2.5 tons and is 3 meters in height, adding that only the US and Japan have the technical know-how to produce the device.

Manufacturing the advanced device inside Iran has obviated the need for imports and provided direct employment for 30 people, he added.

In October 2019, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei assured Iranian knowledge-based companies and the enterprises working on advanced technologies that he would do the best to remove obstacles in the way of the youths' scientific progress.
