Iran’s Para Athlete Mohammad Yari Recovers from Coronavirus


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian para athlete Ali Mohammad Yari has recovered from COVID-19.

The discus thrower self-quarantined himself for two weeks at home after he tested positive for the disease.

Rouhollah Rostami, who won a gold medal in Rio 2016 powerlifting event, is another Iranian Paralympic athlete who has tested positive for the coronavirus.

Iran Olympic silver medalist Ehsan Hadadi had also been diagnosed with COVID-19 but has fully recovered from the disease.

Iran’s total death toll from the new coronavirus outbreak rose to 5,297 on Tuesday, according to a health ministry spokesman.

The total number of infections reached 84,802, he said.
