Iran Records 1,485 New Coronavirus Cases in 24 Hours


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry spokesman Kianoosh Jahanpoor said on Thursday that the total number of coronavirus cases in the country has reached 103,135, while over 82,000 have recovered from COVID-19.

“With 68 new deaths in the past 24 hours, the death toll from the virus has reached 6,486. Unfortunately, we had 1,485 new cases since yesterday,” Jahanpoor said on state TV.

He added that 103,135 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in the country so far.

Jahanpoor also put the number of those who have recovered from the viral infection at 82,744.

The coronavirus outbreak that originated in Wuhan, China, has infected over 3.8 million people around the world. The global death toll from the pandemic is now more than 265,000.
