Protesters Calls for Justice over Killing of Black Man in Georgia (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A crowd of protesters gathered outside the Glynn County Courthouse in the US state of Georgia to demand a thorough investigation into the killing of Ahmaud Arbery after a father and son were arrested and charged with murder.

The family of Ahmaud Arbery, an African-American man who was shot and killed while out jogging in Brunswick, gathered outside the Glynn County courthouse to celebrate what would have been Ahmaud's 26th birthday on Friday.

They were joined by the Georgia NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) along with other spiritual and community leaders.

President of Georgia's NAACP James Major Woodhall addressed the crowd saying, "We are here today because a black male was murdered and he was supposed to be turning 26 years old."

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced late on Thursday that two men had been taken into custody and charged with the murder of the jogger.
