Iran’s new ambassador to Colombo, Mohammad Hashem Ashja’zadeh, submitted his credentials to President of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa via videoconferencing.

The new ambassadors of Brazil and India also submitted their credentials in the online conference.

The outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic has forced the countries to hold many regional and international meetings in the virtual space.

Earlier this month, President of Iran Hassan Rouhani took part in a summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Contact Group via video conferencing to discuss concerted action in the battle with the coronavirus pandemic.
