Esteghlal Defeats Havadar in Friendly
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal football team defeated First Division team Havadar on Friday as part of preparation for Iran Professional League.
In a match held in Tehran’s No. 2 venue of Azadi Stadium, the Blues defeated their rivals 3-1.
Mehdi Abdi scored the only goal of Havadar in the first half and Arsalan Motahari, Farshid Bagheri (penalty) and MortezaTabrizi found back of the net for Esteghlal.
Esteghlal sits fourth in Iran Professional League, 11 points adrift of leader Persepolis.
Farhad Majidi’s outfit will restart the Iran league with a match against Foolad on June 24.
