Dragan Skocic Returns to Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national football team head coach Dragan Skocic returned to Iran early Sunday.

The Croat left Iran on March 12 following the cancellation of Team Melli’s training camp due to coronavirus outbreak.

The Asian qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 were postponed in mid-March due to coronavirus concerns.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has caused sports events to be suspended or postponed in Asia and Europe.

Skocic has come to Tehran to prepare Iran team for four must-win matches.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC), in consultation with FIFA, has announced the proposed match dates for the remaining matches of Round 2 in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Asian Qualifiers, which were originally scheduled to take place in March and June 2020.

Matchdays 7 and 8 are now scheduled to take place on October 8 and 13, 2020 respectively while Matchdays 9 and 10 are due to kick off on November 12 and 17, 2020.
