Iran Witnesses Last Annular Solar Eclipse of Century (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran was witnessing its 'deepest' annular solar eclipse of this century, with the Sun appearing as a dazzling "ring of fire" on Sunday.
The annular solar eclipse occurred on June 21, 2020, making it the last annular solar eclipse of the 14th century in the Persian calendar.
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth.
Footages show eclipses in the cities of Chabahar, Dashtiari, and Konarak in Southern Iran as well as Sistan and Balouchestan Province.
