Number of Iran’s Coronavirus Cases Tops 215,000

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari on Thursday put the total number of the country’s coronavirus cases at 215,096.

“Since yesterday, 2,595 new cases with COVID-19 have been confirmed of whom 1,305 were admitted to the hospital,” Lari said during her daily press briefing on Thursday.

She added that with 134 new deaths in the past 24 hours, the death toll from the disease has reached 10,130.

The spokeswoman further put the number of those who have so far recovered from the viral infection at 175,103.

The coronavirus outbreak has infected over 9.5 million people around the world. The global death toll from the pandemic is now more than 485,430.
