Guarantor States Make Final Arrangements for Astana Peace Process Summit

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Delegations from Iran, Russia, and Turkey -the three guarantor states of the Astana Peace Process- held an online meeting to draft the final statement of a forthcoming summit, due to be held on Wednesday.

The trilateral virtual meeting of delegations from the three guarantors of the Astana Peace Process was held on Tuesday in order to draft the statement of the summit meeting, slated for July 1.

The Tuesday’s preliminary meeting was chaired by Ali-Asghar Khaji, a senior assistant to Iranian Foreign Minister on special political affairs and also Iran’s senior negotiator in the Astana Format, and attended by Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin and Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkey Sedat Onal.

In the virtual meeting, held via videoconference, the three parties made the final arrangements for the summit of the three states, due to be held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

In the online meeting, the three delegations discussed the draft version of the final statement of the forthcoming summit.
