Iran, Kuwait Urge Constant Consultations

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Senior diplomats from Iran and Kuwait called for the continuation of consultations between the two Muslim nations.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Kuwaiti counterpart Ahmad Nasser Al Mohammad Al Sabah held a video conference meeting on Monday as part of the top Iranian diplomat’s routine regional consultations.

The two foreign ministers discussed issues of mutual interests, the mutual cooperation between Iran and Kuwait, and the latest regional and international developments.

They also called for the continuation of consultations between the two countries.

Describing bilateral and multilateral cooperation among the regional countries as a basic and perpetual necessity, Zarif said the interaction between Tehran and Kuwait City could grow in various fields.

In a telephone conversation with Emir of Kuwait Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in April, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani voiced Tehran’s readiness for collective cooperation to ensure regional and international peace and stability and also to cope with the coronavirus in the current delicate situation.

“We expect the friendly country, Kuwait, to adopt stances on the regional issues and also (against) the US’ inappropriate behavior,” Rouhani said.
