President Hails Iran’s Success in Economic War

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani highlighted the country’s successful battle with the enemy’s maximum pressures.

Iran has achieved great successes in thwarting the enemy’s plots during more than two years of maximum pressures and economic war against the Islamic Republic, Rouhani said in a Sunday meeting of the Administration’s Economic Coordination Headquarters.

He said the economic realities in Iran reveal that the country has the necessary capabilities to carry out concerted plans to overcome the unprecedented economic pressures.

The president also said that the enemy’s main objective in the “economic war of attrition” imposed on Iran is to confuse the country’s management and decision-making process, foment negative expectations, and create a vague prospect of the future.

It is necessary to make logical decisions and rely on national unity to thwart the hostile plots, the president underlined.

In remarks on Friday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said the enemy’s long-term goal is to drag the country and the administration into bankruptcy, adding, “Destroying the economy of the country is another goal that they (enemies) pursue because if the economy of a country collapses, it will not be able to survive.”

“The sanctions pursue an additional goal as well. They want to disconnect the relations between the Islamic Republic and the Resistance Forces in the region. This is because they know that Iran will help these forces as much as they can,” the Leader warned.
