Esteghlal Beats Sepahan to Advance to Hazfi Cup Semis
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal defeated Sepahan 2-0 in the Iran’s Hazfi Cup quarterfinals on Monday here at the Azadi Stadium.
Vouria Ghafouri scored from the penalty spot in the 45th minute and Ali Karimi doubled the score in the 61st minute.
Esteghlal joined its archrival Persepolis, Tractor and Naft Masjed Soleyman football teams in the semifinal round.
Esteghlal, as the most decorated team in Hazfi Cup, looks forward to winning the title for the eighth time.
