Palestine Resistance Unaffected by UAE-Israel ‘Treacherous’ Deal: Zarif

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif deplored a deal between the United Arab Emirates and the Zionist regime on the normalization of ties, saying such a “treacherous” move would by no means affect the Palestinian resistance.

Zarif, who is on a visit to Lebanon, held a telephone conversation with secretary general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, Ziad al-Nakhala, on Friday.

In the conversation, Zarif deplored the agreement between Abu Dhabi and the Zionist regime and said, "This behavior will increase the hatred of the people of the region and Palestine against these policies."

"We are confident that this treacherous move will not affect the resistance of the Palestinian people and the resistance movement, and will certainly increase the hatred of the people of the region and Palestine for these policies against the Palestinian cause," Zarif added, Iran Press reported.

For his part, Nakhala appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran's constant support for the Palestinian cause and blasted the UAE-Israel agreement.

"This vicious act will not affect the resistance of the Palestinian people," he said.

The United Arab Emirates and Israel have reached a deal that will lead to a full normalization of diplomatic relations.
