“With 139 new deaths in the past 24 hours, the death toll from the virus has reached 20,264. Unfortunately, we had 2,279 new cases since yesterday,” Lari said during her daily press briefing.
She also put the number of those who have so far recovered from the viral infection at 304,236.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 22.8 million and the death toll has exceeded 797,000.
