In a tweet on Thursday, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Saeed Khatibzadeh said the senior Swiss diplomat will visit Tehran at the head of a delegation on Monday, September 7.
The spokesman said Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will host Cassis and the delegation accompanying him.
Bilateral relations, the regional developments, and international issues will be the focus of talks between the two sides, Khatibzadeh added.
In a message for President of the Swiss Confederation Simonetta Sommaruga in early August, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani expressed confidence that the friendly relations between Tehran and Bern will grow considering the ample opportunities for mutual cooperation.
