Americans Have to Flee West Asia in Coming Years: Iranian Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Secretary of Iran's Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei described the US military presence in West Asia as the root cause of tensions, saying the “terrorist American forces” will have to escape from the region in the years to come.

Speaking to Tasnim, Rezaei said calm and peace would not prevail in the West Asia as long as the terrorist American forces are present in the region.

“The West Asia region will experience calm when the terrorist US regime pulls out of the region. The coming years would mark the terrorist Americans’ escape from the region,” he noted.

The former IRGC commander also described the incidents in Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Bahrain as part of a long-term American plot to foment tensions and wars in order to protect the fake Zionist regime.

In remarks in January, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called for an end to the presence of American forces in the region, which he said only causes corruption.

“They (Americans) have brought war, discord, sedition and destruction to this region; they brought about destruction of infrastructures,” the Leader deplored.
