They submitted their credentials to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in separate meetings on Tuesday.

Iraq’s envoy, Nasir Abdul Mohsin Abdullah, expressed gratitude to Iran for supporting his country in the fight against the Daesh terrorist group, stressing the need to broaden ties between Baghdad and Tehran.

Rouhani also hailed Iraq as a friendly and brotherly nation, adding, “The Islamic Republic of Iran’s government is resolved to support peace, stability and security in Iraq.”

In the other meeting, with Oman’s new envoy Ibrahim bin Ahmad Al-Moeini, the Iranian president said the relations between Tehran and Muscat are based upon good neighborliness, fraternity and cordiality.

Calling for the promotion of bilateral trade and economic interaction, the president said the two neighbors should boost banking and financial cooperation.

In a telephone conversation with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said in April, Rouhani stressed the need for collective action by all countries in the fight against COVID-19.

The president also voiced Iran’s readiness to provide the friendly and neighboring state, Oman, with the experiences and achievements in the battle with COVID-19 and to offer whatever assistance necessary.
