Long-Range Radars Made by IRGC Join Iran’s Air Defense Network

The two homegrown radars were connected to the countrywide air defense network in a ceremony attended by senior military commanders.

The IRGC Aerospace Force has so far manufactured and installed eight Qadir radars across Iran.

Qadir is a phased-array radar system that identifies aerial targets on the basis of 3-dimensional detection with multiple detectors. The system enjoys nonstop monitoring activity.

Run by three operators, the system uses low signals, and is a suitable option for electronic warfare.

With an approximate range of 1,100 kilometers, the homegrown radar system can even detect targets with small cross-section areas. It can spot various stealth aircraft.

Iran has in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of military equipment, including air defense systems that use cutting edge technologies.
