TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Eleven people were killed and 13 others injured in a stampede in Jalalabad city, the capital of eastern Afghanistan Nangarhar province, on Wednesday, said a statement of the provincial government.

Thousands of people gathered in a football stadium close to Pakistan's consulate Wednesday morning to obtain visa, the statement said, Xinhua news agency reported.

The situation went out of control and as a result, 11 people including women and children were killed and 13 others including 10 women and three men sustained injuries.
