The Russian champion will welcome Lazio to St Petersburg on Wednesday, with the home side already in danger of being cut adrift at the bottom of the Group.
While Sergei Semak's side has lost both of its first two games in the section -at home to Club Brugge and away to Borussia Dortmund- in the campaign.
Semak has confirmed that Azmoun is not on the list for the match against Lazio.
The Iranian international forward had also missed the match against Dortmund due to the injury.
