Iran Registers 13,260 New Coronavirus Cases in 24 Hours

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran registered 13,421 new coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours, the health ministry said on Friday, bringing the country’s overall tally to 828,377.

Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari told state TV that the death toll had risen by 479 to 43,896 in the country.

The spokeswoman added that more than 589,000 coronavirus patients have recovered from the disease and left hospitals.

The number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has surpassed 828,000 following the detection of 13,421 new cases since Thursday noon, the spokeswoman added.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world is about to surpass 57.3 million and the death toll has exceeded 1,367,000.
