Iran’s Nasirshelal Receives 2012 Olympics Games Gold
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Navab Nasirshelal is awarded 2012 Olympic Games gold medal, the International Olympic Committee announced.
In a consultative meeting held by videoconference, the IOC Executive Board (EB), took the decision to reallocate medals, diplomas and medalist pins from the Olympic Games London 2012 based on decisions made by the IOC Disciplinary Commission.
At 105kg, Nasirshelal took gold instead of the Ukrainian Oleksiy Torokhtiy.
Bartlomiej Wojciech Bonk of Poland claimed the silver and Ivan Efremov of Uzbekistan was awarded the bronze medal.
Torokhtiy and Uzbekistan’s Ruslan Nurudinov were disqualified after their samples were re-analyzed.
