Coronavirus in Iran: Hospital Admissions Down to 1,710


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus patients who have been admitted to the hospital in Iran over the past 24 hours stood at 1,710, showing a marked decline after a new round of health restrictions.

The Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said at a press conference on Tuesday that 1,710 of the new coronavirus cases detected in the past 24 hours have been admitted to the hospital.

Sima Sadat Lari said the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 1.06 million following the detection of 11,023 new cases since yesterday.

At least 754,224 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the spokeswoman added.

She further put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 50,917, saying the disease has taken the lives of 323 patients over the past 24 hours.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 5,780 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.

The spokeswoman also said more than 6,477,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 68 million and the death toll has exceeded 1.55 million.
