The strategic affairs analyst, Mohammad Javad Larijani, has argued that joining FATF would have no effect on the lifting of sanctions against Iran and is “a hundred percent detrimental” to the country.
It would be sheer folly to abide by the FATF regulations, he added.
The former secretary general of Iran's High Council for Human Rights then noted that the FATF members are among the major sponsors of terrorism, such as Saudi Arabia with a record budget in support of ISIS terrorist group.
He then denounced the calls for the purchase of US-made vaccine for the coronavirus as a plot aimed at bringing Iran to its knees.
Larijani, the current president of Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences, underlined that the coronavirus vaccine developed by the Iranian scientists meets the scientific standards, saying he would immediately participate in the nationwide vaccination program with homegrown vaccine as soon as it begins.
“We definitely do not rely on their (US) vaccine and would make it by ourselves,” he stressed.
Speaking at a weekly cabinet session on Wednesday, President Hassan Rouhani dismissed concerns about developing the coronavirus vaccine inside Iran and purchasing a foreign vaccine.
On Thursday, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Abdolnasser Hemmati said there are no more obstacles in the way of purchasing coronavirus vaccines, pointing to the allocation of 200 million Euros for their import.
