Gen. Soleimani Sacrificed His Life for Sake of Iraq: Hadi Al-Ameri

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hadi al-Ameri, the head of the Fatah (Conquest) Alliance in Iraq's parliament, said Iran’s anti-terror commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani sacrificed his life for the sake of Iraq’s liberation.

"The martyr Hajj Qassem Soleimani made great efforts to liberate Iraq. His concern for Iraq was perhaps more than us. He was more enthusiastic than us and exposed himself to danger for the sake of Iraq and was on the front lines. He was martyred for the sake of Iraq,” al-Ameri said during a conference in Salahuddin province, Al-Massirah news website reported.

"If the enemy scares us by martyrdom, then with martyrdom we will prevail over the enemy," he added.

General Soleimani was the former commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC). He was assassinated by a US strike on January 3, when he was on an official visit to the Iraqi capital Baghdad. Hitting his convoy, the barbaric assault also led to the martyrdom of many others, including Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) or Hashd al-Sha’abi anti-terror force.

Recently, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei vowed that those behind the assassination of the top commander will definitely face revenge whenever possible.
