Iran Sees Decrease in Daily Coronavirus Deaths
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry said on Friday that the country's death toll from the coronavirus has surpassed 55,300.
Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari told state TV that 6,286 new cases were identified over the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s total number of identified cases to 1,231,429.
She added that the total death toll from the viral infection had reached 54,337 with 114 new deaths.
Lari said 5,013 coronavirus patients are in critical condition.
She also put the number of those who have so far recovered from the viral infection at 995,570.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 83.8 million and the death toll has exceeded 1.82 million.
