IPL: Sepahan Beats Paykan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sepahan remained a title contender in Iran Professional League after beating Paykan football team on Friday.
The Isfahan-based football team defeated Paykan 2-1 in Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium.
Soroush Rafiei put Sepahan ahead in the 19th minute and Paykan defender Arash Ghaderi converted his penalty in the 65th minute.
Sepahan best goalscorer Sajad Shahbazzadeh scored the winning goal in the 75th minute.
Sepahan stayed in the third place with the 19 points, two points adrift of leader Sanat Naft.
In Ghaemshahr, struggling teams Nassaji and Machine Sazi shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
Aluminum drew 0-0 with Gol Gohar in Arak.
And Saipa defeated Zob Ahan 2-1 in Tehran.
On Monday, Tractor will host Esteghlal in Tabriz and Persepolis play Foolad in Tehran.
