Sepahan Emerges Victorious over Sanat Naft: IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sepahan football team emerged victorious over Sanat Naft in Abadan in Matchweek 12 of the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Monday.
The Isfahan-based football team sits second with 22 points behind Esteghlal on goal difference.
Sajad Shahbazzadeh found the back of the net in the 6th minute and moved top of the goalscoring table with 10 goals.
Sanat Naft winger Ahmad Shariatzadeh equalized the match in the 70th minute but Mohammad Reza Mehdizadeh scored the winning goal in the 88th minute.
In Arak, newly-promoted Aluminum defeated IPL holder Persepolis 2-1 thanks to goals from Shahin Tavakoli and Hamed Pakdel in the first half.
Kamal Kamyabinia scored for Persepolis.
Foolad also edged past struggling Machine Sazi 1-0 in Tabriz courtesy of Ayanda Patosi’s sixth minute goal.
