Fekri to Continue as Esteghlal Coach
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal football team coach Mahmoud Fekri will continue his job in the team.
Local media had reported that Esteghlal club’s board of directors are not satisfied with the team’s results.
Esteghlal on Saturday showed a lackluster performance against Sepahan in Isfahan, where the Blues suffered a 2-0 loss in their away match.
On Sunday, Esteghlal archrival Persepolis defeated Paykan 1-0 and replaced Esteghlal in the Iran Professional League table with one game in hand.
Shortly afterward, some media reports suggested that Esteghlal is going to part ways with Fekri, but the club has decided to continue with the coach.
