Coronavirus in Iran: 570 New Cases Hospitalized

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry on Sunday announced that 570 coronavirus patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country over the past 24 hours.

The Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said at a press conference today that 570 of the 8,010 patients testing positive for the coronavirus during the past 24 hours have been admitted to the hospital.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,795 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Sima Sadat Lari noted.

She said the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 1,689,000, while more than 1,442,000 patients have recovered so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.

She further put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 60,687, saying the disease has taken the lives of 93 patients over the past 24 hours.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 117 million and the death toll has exceeded 2.6 million.
