Coronavirus in Iran: Hospital Admissions Down to below 500


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry said 485 coronavirus patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country over the past 24 hours.

The Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said at a press conference on Saturday that 485 of more than 7,800 new coronavirus cases detected in the past 24 hours have been admitted to the hospital.

Sima Sadat Lari said the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 1,739,000, while at least 1,485,000 patients have recovered from the coronavirus so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.

She further put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 61,142, saying the disease has taken the lives of 73 patients over the past 24 hours.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,836 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 119 million and the death toll has exceeded 2.65 million.
