Annual Foreign Trade in Iran to Hit $70 Billion in Days: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The value of Iran’s foreign trade in the year ending on March 20 will reach $70 billion, an official said.

Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran said at a meeting of exporters on Tuesday that the value of the country’s foreign trade in the Iranian year 1399 (March 2020- March 2021) is going to hit $70 billion after clearance of the last trade shipments.

Hamid Zadboom also praised the country’s success in preserving the flow of exports and imports under the tough sanctions and economic war imposed by the US.

He noted that the administration and the Parliament are resolved to keep supporting the export of non-oil products in the next Iranian year.

The governor of the Central Bank of Iran had announced in January that Tehran has adopted such plans that domestic production and foreign trade would not be harmed even if the sanctions are kept in place.

Abdolnasser Hemmati emphasized that Iran would never return to previous conditions because of the Central Bank’s policies, the ongoing plans, tools designed to handle the situation, and monetary policies to eliminate the budget deficit.
