Officials Discuss Ways to Broaden Iran-Azerbaijan Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The chief of staff of the Iranian president’s office and the Republic of Azerbaijan’s deputy prime minister weighed plans to expand relations between the two neighbors in various fields.

In a telephone conversation on Friday, Mahmoud Vaezi and Shahin Mustafayev called for the promotion of relations between Iran and The Azerbaijan Republic in different arenas, particularly the economic and trade cooperation.

Congratulating the Republic of Azerbaijan on the festival of Nowruz and the beginning of spring, the Iranian official said there are numerous grounds for the enhancement of ties between Tehran and Baku.

Vaezi also stressed the need to raise the level of political, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation between the two neighbors, expressing Iran’s readiness to share its experiences in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic with the Republic of Azerbaijan.

For his part, Mustafayev praised Iran as a friendly neighbor, highlighting the Republic of Azerbaijan’s resolve to deepen ties with Iran in all fields.

He also noted that the Baku government has made arrangements to strengthen cooperation with Iran in the transportation of commodities.
