The spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said on Friday that the Yemeni forces had carried out an operation dubbed “National Day of Resilience” against Saudi targets using 18 drones and 8 ballistic missiles.
He said that in the operation, Saudi Aramco facilities in Ras Tanura, Rabigh, Yanbu, and Jizan and King Abdulaziz base in Dammam were targeted with 12 Sammad-3 drones and 8 Zulfiqar, Badr, and Sa’ir ballistic missiles.
Yemen also targeted other military sites in Najran and Asir with 6 Qasef-2K drones, he said, adding that the National Day of Resilience Operation successfully achieved its goals.
Saree further warned the Saudi-led coalition of the consequences of the continuing aggression and blockade on Yemen, Al-Masirah reported.
“We affirm our readiness to carry out more severe, harsh military operations,” he went on to say.
Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched a brutal war on Yemen in March 2015.
The war was launched to suppress an uprising that had toppled a Riyadh-friendly regime.
The US-based Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED), a nonprofit conflict-research organization, estimates that the war has claimed more than 100,000 lives.
The United Nations says more than 24 million Yemenis are in dire need of humanitarian aid, including 10 million suffering from extreme levels of hunger. The world body also refers to the situation in Yemen as the world's worst humanitarian crisis.
The Saudi war has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen's infrastructure, destroying hospitals, schools, and factories.
