TEHRAN (Tasnim) – France’s largest farmers’ union (FDSEA), and Young Farmers (Jeunes Agriculteurs) organized a demonstration over the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

The farmers used their tractors to disrupt traffic on the A6 motorway near Villabe on Friday to protest against reforms to Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

The policy reform would reportedly favour organic and acro-ecology farming methods, hence making it difficult for more conventional farmers to receive government aid.

Protesters put up a sign reading, 'Macron, answer on the CAP [Common Agricultural Policy]! Save your peasant,' in front of a tractor and of a bridge over the motorway.

Similar protests took place across Ils-de-France on Friday.

Protesters wanted to send a message to the government as France is preparing its national strategic plan (PSN), including regulations addressing the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), to present before the European Commission in June.
