Serbia’s Top Diplomat Due in Iran Today

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Selakovic is going to visit Iran on Saturday.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh said the Serbian foreign minister will pay a visit to Iran later today.

The senior Serbian diplomat is planned to meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, and a number of other ranking officials, the spokesman added.

In a telephone conversation with his Serbian counterpart in June 2020, Rouhani called for the expansion of relations with Serbia in all fields, stressing that the US’ cruel sanctions should not be allowed to ruin the bilateral ties between Tehran and Belgrade, particularly their economic interaction.
