Iran Eager to Enhance Cultural Cooperation with Italy

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage and Tourism Ali Asghar Mounesan expressed the country’s readiness to promote cooperation with Italy in the cultural and tourism sectors.

In a meeting with Italy’s ambassador to Tehran on Monday, Mounesan pointed to the many successful exhibitions that Iran has held across Europe.

He also voiced Iran’s readiness to stage cultural and handicrafts exhibitions in Italy and also to provide venues for the Italian exhibitors to showcase their products.

The Iranian people have withstood tough foreign sanctions and have stood on their own feet, Mounesan noted, adding that good opportunities for cooperation will arise considering the positive atmosphere of the Vienna negotiations for the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal.

For his part, Giuseppe Perrone hailed the suitable grounds for cooperation with Iran given its rich cultural and historical background.

While Italy and Iran have a long history of cooperation in archeological activities, Rome is ready to expand interaction with Tehran, the ambassador noted.
