Persepolis striker Isa Alekasir found the back of Sepahan’s net in the 55th minute but Mohammad Mohebbi scored the equalizer in the 87th minute.
In Tehran, Esteghlal suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Zob Ahan. Vahid Mohammadzadeh leaped and headed the ball past Esteghlal keeper Rashid Mazaheri.
Milad Jahani made the scoreboard 2-0 in the 60th minute from a counter attack.
Paykan also drew 1-1 with Tractor in Tehran. Mehdi Tikdari was on target for Tractor in the 10th minute and Mohammad Amin Darwishi equalized the match in the 52nd minute.
Sepahan sits top, having 45 points from 22 matches. Persepolis is second with 42 points from 21 matches. Esteghlal remains third with 34 points from 20 matches.
