TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national boxing team aims to prove its development at the 2021 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships.

Iran has currently held a training camp in Yangiabad, Uzbekistan to prepare for the competition, ASBCNEWS reported.

The Iranian Boxing Federation is planning to send eight male boxers to the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships including their two Olympic quota holders, Daniyal Shakhbakhsh and Seyed Shahin Mousavi.

Their boxing team will compete in the 52kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg, 75kg, 81kg, 91kg and +91kg weight categories in Dubai.

Uzbekistan’s national training camp is located in Yangiabad in a mountain area which is perfect for the athletes’ physical conditions. Many of the national teams visited Yangiabad in recent years to train together with the strong Uzbeks such as Cuba, England, Kazakhstan and Hungary.

The Iranian boxers ranked 16th in the medal table of the Bangkok 2019 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships with one bronze. Their goal in the upcoming Dubai 2021 edition is to reach better performance and prove their developments.
